In 2016 the KOZMUS beekeeping farm became a certified provider of APITOURISM. A committee awarded us 3 bees, which means EXCELLENT APITOURISM PROVIDER. In this respect we provide interesting services to our visitors, which are tailored to individual groups of visitors. During your visit to the apiary and observation trips, you will learn why bees have recently been increasingly under threat and what people can do to protect them and other pollinators.

Visitors can also see a bee hotel for solitary bees and at the same time learn a lot of interesting information about this group of bees. If you are interested, you can also see a garden of melliferous herbs, which are used by the farm to make different tea blends (Cornelian cherry tea, Ema’s tea) primarily for their personal needs. Ema’s herbal tea was named after Saint Ema who is the only Slovenian saint born in Pilštanj. This tea is particularly popular.

During the visit, we will present a Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas), one of the first spring melliferous plants, which is important for the development of bee colonies. A Cornelian cherry is a symbol of Pilštanj and is mentioned in two Pilštanj Anthems: Čez Pilštanj voda teče, drnule peremo /…/ and Od nekdaj Pilštanj bil je res imeniten kraj /…/

At the end of the visit, you will have the opportunity to try different types of honey in combination with spelt bread and learn about their beneficial effects.
